THE FIRST SCHOOL TO TRAIN TREE CLIMBING
1)Tree Climbers International (TCI) is a worldwide organization of people who love to climb trees.
2)TCI is also the world's first school for recreational tree climbers.
3)TCI want the sport of "rope and saddle" tree climbing available everywhere so that everyone can experience the joy and wonder of seeing the world from the heights of the treetops!
ON HOW IT STARTED
1)TCI was started by Peter "Treeman" Jenkins, a retired rock and mountain climber-turned tree surgeon (now an ISA-Certified Arborist).
2)In 1983, he founded Tree Climbers International and opened the world's first tree climbing school in Atlanta with two big white oak trees, Nimrod and Dianna, and a Mission Statement.
3)Every beginner who comes to our school gets a great tree climbing experience in our Beginners' (Introductory) Climb.
4)For those who want to learn to climb on their own, TCI offers a two-day Basic Tree Climbing Course. We also teach a "Beyond the Basics" course of advanced climbing skills.
5)The TCI Facilitator Program and TCI Instructor Program are available to those enthusiasts who want to become tree climbing teachers.
6)To this day there have not been any injuries in TCI-sponsored recreational tree climbing activities.

AGUMBE RAINFOREST RESEARCH CENTER
Gowri Shankar, a herpetologist conducting research in the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station in Shimoga accompanies travellers on tree trails when he's not looking for arboreal snakes.
In today's urban setup children rarely get the chance to interact with the natural world. Designed to act a launching pad for budding young naturalists and biologists, this workshop will address this lack of exposure and give children a structured learning experience that will allow them to build their own context and skills. This workshop emphasises awareness, appreciation and understanding of wildlife and the natural world.
Here, we will learn how to build hides, machaans, approach animals with stealth and efficiency, observe aquatic life, setting pit falls and camera traps, some basics in Nature photography, outdoor survival, tree climbing and fish on the lake.
Dates: 9th to 13th April, 2012
Age Bracket: 9 to 16 yrs.

I'd love to be in the tree tops as you've made it all simpler with the ropes than the normal climb on tree, that would have been impossible, but this seems fun :)
